How exactly does the license work?

The license is bound to your Odoo instance, not to individual people. There are no license codes to hand out. You’re only billed for users who actually used Clockoo in the last 30 days, so parental leave, vacation or departures take care of themselves.
What data does Clockoo receive?

As little as possible. The license server counts active users per instance, without names, e-mail addresses or time data. Your project and time data never leave your Odoo.
Which Odoo versions does Clockoo work with?
